Experience has proved it pays to mix Swirltex before preparation
of work. this allows 10 minutes standing time to allow
additives to dissolve then mix before use. Start with 10
litres of cold clean water. Add 8 litres to mixing container
using a power drill with mixing blade. Add contents of
Swirltex to water and mix to obtain a smooth even
consistency. Allow to stand for 10 minutes for adhesives,
resins and mould inhibitor to dissolve. Then remix and add
remaining 2 litres of water and adjust to desired viscosity,
slightly drier for small areas and if a heavy embossed pattern is
required, have the mix slightly wetter. This is also
important for large areas, on walls and ceilings. This allows
for more working time.
Mask out using 18mm tape and 100mm paper on scotias, skirting,
doors etc. Apply ground sheets to floor areas. All
loose paint must be removed, grease and dirt must be cleaned off
using chemical paint cleaner (refer Special Finishes Ltd).
Sand down areas and uneven surfaces. Apply MULTISEAL Alkyd
Sealer to all areas to be textured, it is very important to allow
sealer to dry completely before applying Swirltex.
