Shieldtex Concrete Block Sealer

Description:

A thick Acrylic Membraine to give total waterproofing to concrete blocks, concrete walls and fibre cement sheeting that has joints filled.

Uses:

Commercial and residential, low and igh rise building - interior or exterior, wherever an attractive total sealing coat is to be specified.

Properties:

A high build pure acrylic containing top grade pigments and inert fibre reinforcing that ensures maximum void filling and bridging of gaps, even up to 1mm wide.  dries with a semi gloss finish and some surface texture - depending on method of application.  offers outstanding durability and adhesion with very good abrasion resistance.  Available in white, can be tinted to a wide range of colours from the BS 5252 range.

Application:

Brush, roller or spray.  if spraying, allowance should be made for the coarse fibre reinforcing, i.e. use large tips and in the case of airless spray, a coarse not fine inline filter should be used.

Touch Dry	1 hour at 18'C
Recoat	Minimum of 3 hours

Thinning:

Do not thin.

Clean up:

Water.

Coverage:

First Coat	5m2 per litre
Second & Subsequent Coats	7 1/2 m2 per litre (Giving a filbuild of 90 microns per coat)

Specification

Concrete Blocks:

two coats may be sufficient, but to ensure a total waterproof film, 3 coats are recommended.  The first coat at least on concrete blocks, should be brushed or rolled to ensure adequate penetration of the sealer into minor cracks and voids.

New Concrete & New Fibre Cement Sheeting:

Clean down thoroughly to remove any dirt or other contamination, ensure particularly that surface is free from oil or release agents.  Fill large cracks in concrete with Flexicure Jointing Compound (refer to Flexicure Data Sheet for Cement Sheeting joints).  Apply 2 coats of Concrete Block Sealer, as per application details.

Old Cementations Surfaces:

Remove any loosely adhered existed coating and treat with Special finishes Chemical Clean to eradicate any mould infestation.  high pressure waterblasting is recommended, but if not possible, surface should be thoroughly wire brushed.  Old fibre cement sheeting may need joins resaled with Flexicure.  allow to dry thorougly applying 2 coats of Shildtex concrete block Sealer.
