Surface preparation and application of Chemcure 200 shall be
carried out by an approved Licensed Applicator for Special Finishes
Ltd., in strict accordance with specifications and data
supplied. Licence required W.CC200
- New concrete must cure for a minimum of 28 days before Chemcure
200 application.
- New roofs designed, should have the appropriate fall to water
drain. engineering design should incorporate 200 mm upturns
around ll roof sides, thus preventing water spill off over
building. These upturns are also used as the base plate of
parapet walls if they are to continue - upturns save cost by
eliminating the use of other weathering membranes.
- Epansion Joints to be sealed with our approved system.
Recommendations for long term performance, use Dow Corning R.790
Silicone Sealant.
- Mould and paint should be completely removed by water-blasting
before any application.
- Existing concrete should be completely free from grease and
oils - application of Chemical Degreaser then steamcleaning (oil
will penetrate concrete up to 7 mm deep). All oil must be
removed.
- Apply Chemcure 200 at 5m2 per litre, liberally flooding area -
allow 6 hours to cure.
- After 6 hours, apply 1 coat of water liberally.
- Allow 24 hours, apply second coat of water.
- Allow 24 hours, then apply third liberal coat of water.
- Allow minimum 3 days before water resistance is achieved.
If correct watering procedures are not followed, failure may
result - recoating procedure will be necessary.
Apply to 28 day cured concrete only
Do not apply Chemcure 200 to any of the following areas:
- All aluminium, including anodised
- Terracotta tiles (white stains will result)
- Ceramic tiles (surface with be etched)
- Glass (all glass will be etched by chemical reaction) - glass
must be protected
- Protect all areas with plastic tape and masking film
(Refer Special Finishes Ltd, for protection procedures)
Wear protective overalls, gloves and goggles when spraying.
Eye Contact: Flush with copious amounts of water or dilute Boric
Acid Solution - seek medical aid.
Skin Contact: Wash thoroughly with soap and warm water.
