- Preparation - Completely prepare total job by hanging clean
plastic wall sheets throughout all rooms to be sprayed. Some
new clean cloth sheets to be kept separate and used only for
covering T.V, stereo beds, and any expensive furniture, etc.,
before wall sheets go up. All cloth ground sheets to be laid
out over floor area. Mark out all rooms on scotias leaving
4-6mm gap between ceiling and masking tape to allow for
texture. This leaves a clean edge when removing tape.
- Sealcoat - After all masking and covering is complete, apply
one coat of Spraytex Alkyd Adhesive Sealer (oil based) to all
ceilings. New Gib-board, fibrous plastered ceilings and all
existing ceilings must be sealed to ensure adhesion and prevent any
bleed through of stains or uneven drying of texture.
- Damaged Surfaces - Remove any loose flaky paint, etc.
Replace loose galvanised nails and nail loose sheets. Fill
all cracks and holes using resin mortar. Any joints or long
cracks should be cleaned and the gap widened. Then apply one
coat of undiluted concentrated sealer, then trowel on a coat of
resin mortar. Trowel in 48mm fibreglass tape into joints
while resin mortar is wet. Allow to dry, then apply Spraytex
Sealer over joints and total ceiling area.
- Spraying - After sealing and all preparation, apply Spraytex
Ceiling Spray to a thickness of texture required.
- Glitter - Immediately apply glitter to each room before ceiling
teture has dried to ensure proper adhesion of glitter, (silver or
gold can be used or a mix of both). It is recommended
to use more silver than gold when blending together for best
results.
- Completion - Remove all masking paper carefully leaving
straight edge, for best results remove paper as each room is
completed and place into old used texture bags, then fold up floor
sheets and vacuum all floors if needed.
