Weatherproofing for Plywood Deck
Ensure all plywood is marine type or exterior grade, fix in
accordance to MFC instructions. use of Bondit adhesive glue
and stainless crews counter sunk is highly recommended. Grind

- Apply 1 coat of Multiseal Urethane sealer Dilute 50% with White
Spirits. Allow 2 - 4 hours to dry
- Apply 1 Coat of Multiseal Urethane Sealer dilute 20% with White
Spirits. Allow 2 - 4 hours to dry.
- Apply 1 coat of Deckseal JC50 to all joints. Allow to
dry.
- Apply (using Blacktex roller) 2 thick coats of CTEM Deckcoat @
2 m² per litre coverage. Allow 1-2 hours to dry between
coats. (Provides 600 microns DFT). allow to dry.
- Cut mesh to correct size - lay down on dry membrane and bush on
CTEM Deckcoat - working it through Mesh. Maintain even finish
brushing out any entrapped air pockets, overlap each layer of mesh
by 50mm. allow 1 -2 hours to dry.
- apply (using Blacktex roller) 3 - 4 further thick coats @ 2m²
per litre per coat of CTEM Deckcoat. A total minimum dry film
thickness of 1200 microns should be achieved. Allow to dry
between coats. if a smoother top finish coat is required,
dilute TOP COAT ONLY with 10 - 15% water. clean up with
water. Blacktex stipple roller provides a slight subtle
texture that may also assist with Anti skid properties.
CTEM Deckcoat should definitely not be used under tiled flooring
and in temperatures below 15°C and should only be applied in hot
summer months. It is not recommended in cold winter as
through dry is considerably inhibited. if application
temperatures are below 20°C then apply more coats at thinner film
builds to allow complete drying between coats and should only be
used if the total recommended film thickness is between 1.2 mm to
1.5 mm is achieved.
Apply at the minimum rate of 2.5 litres per m² per coat over
five coats. This should provide approximately 1500 microns
dry film thickness. Clean up before dry using water.
