Prekote P50 Acrylic Modified Cement

Description:

Prekote is a two part adhesive cement texture and is an excellent coating over Harditex/Hardiflex, concrete and blockwork.  A very subtle rounded texture can be achieved in fine, medium or super coarse stucco type finish.  Once overcoated with Colourtrend Paints' 3 coat system, this rounded smooth texture facilitates self-cleaning and is more serviceable in high dirt pick areas.

Typical Properties & Features:

Prekote is manufactured from refined graded silica saand, Portland light cement, quality mInerals and inert fibres, blended with 100% solid acrylic adhesive compound, ensuring outstanding adhesion and binding properties to all prepared sealed substrates. It possesses excellent exterior durability and is very hard wearing.

Suggested Uses:

Prekote can be applied over any substrate requiring an economical texture, especially Harditex, concrete, blockwork and over Strongwall Systems.

Finish:

Different Stucco type textures can be achieved with varied air pressures and spraying techniques.  Type of texture must be established before commencement of any contract.

Prekotes must be overcoated with Strongwall Sealer and our Colourtrend paints in a semi-gloss, gloss, or low sheen, in any BS colours as desired.  Alternative system, apply 2 coats of Aquepoxy and 2 coats of pigmented Ultraglaze with sophisticated ultraviolet protective additives.

Mixing Instructions:

Prekotes only requirement is to be blended on site with water only to desired consistency, thus eliminating any mixing errors.

Correct sealer for the appropriate substrate must be applied before any Prekote application.  Over existing painted surfaces or any porous substrate addition of Multibond Adhesive to Prekote in place of water must be used to ensure ultimate adhesion.  Approximately 4 litres of Resin 50 per bag, then water to desired consistency.

Pot Life:

1½ - 2 hours depending on temperature.

Warning

One pot life has expired and setting up begins in container, do not add more water (product will require dumping).  Remix new batch.

Coverage Rate:

Approximately 18 litres of mixed product is achieved from 1 bag of Prekote at 1 mm wet film thickness, 1 square metre per litre, 18 m² per bag.  Most textures require minimum of 3 mm wet film thickness and this would give 6 m² coverage per bag.

Application:

Apply using Hopper Gun and spray one fine scatter coat.  then lower air pressure and spray second coat with heavy relief until desired texture is achieved, keeping texture consistent throughout contract.

Clean Up:

Before dry, use water.  Once dry, use Cleansol or Special finishes Ltd. A.P. thinners.  clean Hopper Gun immediately with water to prevent curing.

Storage:

Store above ground level and keep dry to prevent lumping.  maintain covers on mixed product and on Multibond Adhesive.  Shelf life 6 months in dry conditions.
