Ensure 7.5 mm Harditex is used and fixed vertically.
Overlapping all studs at 600 centres. All joint gaps should
be 4-6 mm to allow for sufficient filling compound. any
horizontal joints must overlap nogs at 800 centres. All nails
should be minimum 7 mm 40 mm galvanised Harditex nails, fixed
at 15 mm centres. (Do not use Gib-board nails.)
Apply Hardiseal Solvent Selaer to entire exterior surface of
harditex sheets to ensure good adhesion of jointing system and
prevent any water absorption or fibres delaminating.
Ration by volume
Mix 3 parts Flexicure Powder to 1 part Flexicure Resin to smooth
Lump Free consistency. Adjust with Flexicure resin if a
wetter mix is required for finishing.
Note: Do not adjust consistency with water - use only Flexicure
Resin, to ensure minimum shrinkage and prevent cracking.
- Apply to entire surface of harditex Sheets one coat of mixed
Flexicure Compound to all sealed joints, using a board knife or
trowel pressing material well into the joint ensuring no air
entrapment, then embed 75mm Polypropylene tape into wet coat.
Trowel smooth. Allow to dry.
- Apply second coat of Flexicure Compound, trowelled over all
joints to a smooth finish. A spray mist of water in surface
will assist trowelling smooth.
- Inspect all joints using straight edge ensuring all areas are
flush. Apply one further coat to completely level out
joints. Again use mist spray of water to assist. (Do
not apply any teture or paint if areas are not level.)
- Finishing Compound - Ready mied Finishing Compound should be
used for final smoothing of joints. Apply one coat of
Strongwall Sealer then paint or texture as required in fine, medium
or coarse.
