A specially modified hi build coating containing ultra-violet
light barrier and a flow promoter to ease application. Acid
and alkali resistant with exceedingly good adhesion.
Resistant to swimming pool chemicals and sulphur as found in
thermal pools.
School, public and private swimming pools - either salt, fresh
or thermal, Spa pools and ornamental pools.
A hi build 2 pack epoxy with 100% solids, no solvent fumes, low
toxicity, high chemical resistance, extremely durable and abrasive
resistant - unsurpassed adhesion to concrete or timber. Dries
to a very hard high gloss finish. Available in Light Pool
Blue 18 E 50 and Deep Sea Blue 20 D 44, but other colours may be
made to order.
Should be acid etched and waterblasted to remove the weak cement
slurry that forms on the surface of new concrete - this enables
penetration and ensures adhesion. Leave an adequate period to
dry prior to application of epoxy finish. Important: Refer to
Acid Etch specifications.
Should preferably have existing paint finishes removeed.
Suggested methoeds are - sandblasting, mechanical abrading or paint
stripping, or existing surfaces be waterblasted, mechanically
sanded and left to dry thoroughly - then apply Special Finishes
Solvent Etch and Epoxy Etch Sealer to whole area before applying
Swimming Pool Epoxy.
- Preparation: Sand down total area with 60 grit paper = sweep
dust free - wash with Solvent Etch.
- Apply 1 coat of Optiseal Epoxy Sealer - allow 1-2 hours to
dry.
- Apply 2 coats of Swimming Pool Epoy @ 6m² per litre coverage
per coat. Allow 8 hours between coats - DO NOT exceed 32
hours before second coat. Allow 6-7 days to cure before
filling pool.
Volume 'A' and 'B' - 3 to 1 (Important to mix accurately, 3
parts 'A' to 1 part 'B; Hardener by volume)
Stir each part thoroughly. Mix 3 parts 'A' to 1 part 'B'
by volume and stir thoroughly - allow to stand for 3 minutes, then
stir and use. (Always mix in larger container - DO NOT mix in
4 litre tin supplied, as inadequate mixing will result.)
Mix to 1 litre 'A' Resin, add 340 mls of Hardener 'B'
DO NOT thin topcoats as colour floatation may occur.
At 25°C 50% relative humidity - 1 hour (Only mix sufficient
Epoxy that can be used within 30 minutes - as large mixed
quantities will generate Exothermic Reaction and subsequent loss of
material)
Important - Allow 6-7 days to cure before filling pool.
