Tetraguard is a single pack catalysed polymer incorporating
hollow thick walled thermal beads, designed to provide exceptional
thermal and insulation properties on galvanised iron, aluminium,
steel, fibreglass, etc.
- 1 mm filmbuild provides R Factor of 2.5
- 2 mm filmbuild provides R Factor of 3.4
- Acoustic control
- Prevents condensation
- Sound proofing vehicles, boats, caravans
- All B.S. or designer colours
All industrial and commercial areas that require thermaland
condensation control - on marine, automotive, cars, boats,
caravans, steel, aluminium, etc.

A number of tests were carried out by our laboratory;
Test No.1 |
Standard 2 chamber heat transfer apparatus |
Ambient in laboratory
Tetraguard coated top chamber
Bottom chamber (heat source)
|
25.6°C
26.7°c
52.2°C
|
Test No.2 |
Standard 2 chamber heat transfer apparatus 24 hour run heat
input 40 watts |
Chamber (a) as for Test No.1 - Tetraguard @ 600 microns
thickness
Chamber (b) lined with insulating batts (R2.5)
|
Variations above ambient:
Chamber (a) 1.1 to 1.6°C
Chamber (b) 2.0 to 3.0°C
|
|
The summary of these tests showed that the Tetraguard coating @
600 microns had better insulation by 1°C to 2°C than the insulation
batts.
Primer;
Apply 1 coat of Tetracure P10 Primer @ 8-10 m² per litre
coverage (diluted 50% with Tetrasolve Solvent). Allow
Tetraguard 30 minutes to cure.
Apply 2-4 coats of Tetraguard @ 300 microns wet filmbuild per
coat. Use as supplied and apply using pressure pot system
intermitting each spray pass by 50% to achieve desired film
thickness. For thermal insulation a minimum of 300 microns
should be achieved.
Use Tetraolve Solvent or Brushwash
2.5 m² per litre @ 400 microns W.F.B.
300 microns per coat. Two coats recommended
Touch 30-60 minutes, Hard 8-24 hours
1-4 hours, depending on ambient temperature.
Wear protective overalls, goggles and gloves. maintain
adequate ventilation at all times. When spraying, use
approved respirator with organic vapour cartridge.
Flush with copious amounts of water, or dilute boric acid
solution and seek immediate medical aid. |
Wash thoroughly with soap and warm water. |
Keep away from sparks and open flame. Smoking should not
be permitted in working areas. Extremely flammable
liquid. Keep out of reach of children - avoid breathing
vapours - contains aromatic hydrocarbon solvents. |
