New Zealand's foremost specialist coating group Special Finishes has transformed the main production floors at Mr Chips in East Tamaki, Auckland.

The previous floor was slippery, dark, warn out, and didn't clearly indicate where pedestrian traffic could safely walk. Now it has been transformed with Armepoxy, with an anti-slip surface more than conforming to ASNZ 3661.1 and increasing the light reflectivity in the factory making it a brighter and happier working environment. A floor that not only Mr Chips are happy with, but also their clients who regularly carry out audits, helping Mr Chips .

The transformation process of this floor involved removing the existing failing coating & preparing the concrete substrate to ensure excellent bond of the Armepoxy Flooring System by diamond grinding.

Once this process had been completed, Patching and Coving was installed to the perimeter walls using Epoxyflex - a flexible epoxy paste ideal for small radius coves, and filling holes.

Armepoxy Primer was then applied, & Special Finishes Optiglue was used to fill major holes and defects in the concrete surface. This was then followed by the installation of the Armepoxy Flooring System. The resulting floor is seamless, without welded joints (often found in Vinyl or Linoleum) and looks stunning in anyone of the 5500 different colour combinations available.
