RIMU OIL

DESCRIPTION: RIMU OIL is a single pack oil modified polyurethane finish used as an oiling finish for all timber work, interior and exterior. It is designed as a penetrating oil rather than a surface varnish.

USES: RIMU OIL is most suitable as a clear finish for timber particularly for oiling furniture. It provides a subtle low sheen finish which is easily reapplied at any time with minimal preparation.
It can also be stained to any typical timber colour to provide a coloured surface. On exterior timber application every two to four years is recommended to maintain appearance.

APPLICATION: Ensure timber surface is clean and dry. Not suitable for application over sealed or previously painted surfaces. Apply by brush , roller or spray (brush is the preferred method). Allow RIMU OIL to soak into the grain of the timber, reapply in areas that have soaked in and become dry.
Wipe off excess smooth with a rag.

WARNING: RIMU OIL contains oils that can react slowly with cotton and some synthetic rags generating a lot of heat which can cause spontaneous combustion. Do not leave used rags inside. Do not leave used rags bunched up. Either spread the rags outside to allow to dry thoroughly before discarding, wash the rags and discard while still wet in a plastic bag, or incinerate. Further coats can be applied after 24 hours dry but avoid excess build up on the surface of the timber, the product is designed as a penetrating oil stain. Application rate is approximately 10 m2/litre but will vary depending on type of timber. Thinning should not be necessary, clean up with Mineral Turpentine or White Spirits. Product will touch dry in less than 2 hours depending on the type of timber and quantity applied but will not be fully dry for 24 hours

Health and Safety: The product is solvent based. Use with adequate ventilation. Keep away from heat, sparks and all sources of ignition. Keep away from children.
