A two part Adhesive Cement Patching Compound.
TYPICAL PROPERTIES & FEATURES:
Shieldpatch P50 is manufactured from refined graded silica sand, Portland cement, quality minerals and inert fibres, giving interbinding properties for a very strong flexible product. All Shieldpatch P50 Grades already contain adhesive polymer this provides onsite only the addition of clean water, thorough mixing then direct application to the substrate. Shieldpatch P50 with this added adhesive polymer ensures outstanding adhesion and binding properties to all prepared surfaces. It possesses excellent exterior durability and is very hard wearing.
SUGGESTED USES:
Shieldpatch P50 has been specifically formulated as a flushing compound for block buildings / brick buildings, concrete floors, and for use in the Strongwall Insulated Wall Cladding System. It can be used to repair existing concrete where adhesion is important. It is used as a splash coat for solid plastering ensuring adhesion and preventing loose drumming of plaster in future years. It is especially useful for improving the appearance and weather proofing of block buildings. It is applied in two separate 1 mm thin flush coats over
the total block areas, resulting in a very reasonable finish that is guaranteed against loss of adhesion.
FOR FLOOR USE:
If used for flushing, smoothing floors we recommend Acid Etching all concrete first (new or old), then the application of one coat of Multibond adhesive blended 1 to 1 with Shieldpatch P50 then add 4 litres of Multibond with each bag of Shieldpatch P50, adjust with water if required then apply to concrete floor.
FINISH:
Shieldpatch P50 can be left smooth or textured and over-coated with Shieldtex Hi Build Acrylic Flexible Membrane that would result in a guaranteed waterproof coating. Textures available in fine, medium or coarse. Refer to the Acrylic Hi Build or Texturecoat data sheets.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Add 5-6 litres of clean water to a 20 litre plastic paint pail, slowly add 1 bag of Shieldpatch P50 while continually stirring (use electric drill with stirring blade). You can adjust Shieldpatch P50 with more powder or more water to suit your requirements / type of application. in hot conditions slightly increased
water is recommended. This mix should give approximately 18 litres of mixed product and approximate coverage 18 m2 at 1 mm film thickness / or 9 m2 at 2 mm film thickness / or 4.5 m2 at 4 mm film thickness.
POT LIFE OF SHIELDPATCH P50:
Should be approximately 1 1⁄2 - 2 hours depending on temperatures, it is very important not to remix or use Shieldpatch P50 that has already begun to set. Retarder additives available from Special Finishes Ltd to provide more working time in hot climates.
APPLICATION METHOD:
Trowel, Hopper Gun, Concrete Mono Pump, Terylene Gun.
WARNING:
Once setting up begins in container, do not add more water and use (product would require dumping). Remix a new batch.
Should more working time be required, retarding additives are available on request. To prevent fast drying always store mixed material and use out of direct sunlight. Always keep containers covered with polythene.
